Why cant we smell our perfum after 30 mins goes by?

I bought a new body spray, from Bath and body works and I love smell but with all perfums I have I spray them, go out and I cant smell them but the people around me can? I want people to Smell it. But why is it I cant unless I snif myslef?Why cant we smell our perfum after 30 mins goes by?
You get used to the smell, so your nose doesn't pick up on it as much.





It is like if you wear colored sunglasses. For a while everything looks red, but soon you just get used to it. After you wear then for a few hours, and then take them off, the world looks really blue intil you adjust again.





It's just your brain adjusting to the change. Same thing happens with other smells, like if you burn something in the kitchen, but don't leave, you soon don't notice it. but everyone else who comes in from outside says ';OMG what stinks!';Why cant we smell our perfum after 30 mins goes by?
It's actually 2 things.





1. Sprays are meant to combine with your skin sweat and scent, and since you can't smell how you smell already the scent isn't as pungent to you.





2. You may notice on bottles it says either eau de toillette or eau de perfume, and there IS a difference between the 2. Eau de toillette is not nearly as strong and unfortunately is what most retailers sell, its softer and doesn't last as long. If you really want your smell to be strong and last try an actual eau de perfume and not a bath and body spray.
There are 2 reasons:


1. Cuz we get used to it and our noses get accustomed to the smell of perfume.


2. Cuz what u r using may not actually be perfume. U say body spray, which means it usually contains large amts of water. This is not made to last long. The same is usually the case for eau de toillette. If u want perfume that lasts, u should get a good quality eau de parfum. Perfumes from chanel, YSL, Hanae mori, Givenchy are made to last and smell fabulous. Make sure u get the eau de parfum . It will be expensive but u will def. smell divine all day long and the bottle itself will last longer.



I think it's because you get used to it, or it's not that strong, because if you ever notice guys that wear cologne, you can still smell it...even though they often didn't put it on 30 min. ago.


However, other people can smell it, usually. Unless it's really weak to begin with.
you have become immune to the smell have you been wearing the scent a long time? After awhile you just simply become used to a smell and you don't smell it as much. But please don't put more on! Put the amount you always did on. I assure you other people can smell it and to much of a good thing can be a bad thing! Good Lcuk!!!
idk, thats y u should wear lotion instead with a perfume. make sure there the same scent tho
because you get used to the smell... the scent stays with you though... and that is why!!
