I have a lot of perfume, for how long does opened/ unopened perfum last?

They are very good brands like Nina Ricca , Burberry etc.. all gifts. How does does perfum either opened or un-opened last??

Light and heat damage perfumes the most.


I personally keep perfumes (bottles in their boxes) in a spare refrigerator I have. It is not on very low temp.( about +10C) but keeps the perfumes cool and in the dark. I have bottles opened for more than a year and still are fresh and strong. I believe this way I keep them, has saved them.I have a lot of perfume, for how long does opened/ unopened perfum last?
Shouldn't go bad. I have a bottle of ';Hai Karate'; from the 70s and it still smells as ';good'; as ever.

Alice is right by the way. You should keep them in a cool and somewhat dark place.


I keep mine in a refrigerator,too. Like in summer i put everything in a fridge because heat and light are really the enemies of cosmetics. If you keep them in a safe place it can last 1-2 years ( although i didn't keep any perfume longer than a year, i know some friends who kept their perfumes 2 years at a good storage)

Even if you don't open them... They will evaporate eventually, but it will take a long time... They can last for decades... This applies to expensive perfumes only...
i have a bottle (opened) from 8 years ago. i'm sure some evaporated, but the amount is not noticeable.
